Nightports at Hull Minster

The ‘Nightports at Hull Minster’ project celebrates the unique and beguiling sounds of Hull Minster’s bells and clock. Based on field recordings made during rare access to the bell tower, this immersive electronic work will reveal previously-unheard sounds and will take listeners into a hidden world of reverberant resonance and mechanical rhythm. Coinciding with the tolling of the bells, Nightports will capture and manipulate sounds in real-time to create a shroud of sound that will be uniquely in and of this special building.

For this project, Nightports (Mark Slater and Adam Martin) is supported by PRS Foundation’s The Open Fund for Music Creators.
